1 The three followed the tunnel for what felt like days. Their footfalls thumped, but the echoes produced by the obscenely large tunnels were nothing short of monstrous. Ed held the only flashlight, stopping every hundred yards or so to check on the other two. They were his friends. ‘Friends,’ he thought, ‘No, They're more than... Continue Reading →
He had just finished what could presumably be his first vacation from college life. Seeing his parents must've been something of a treat for him; he was normally never as contempt. It almost seemed as though nothing could ruin his night, but just as fate has a funny way of disturbing peace, the young man started to get a funny itch himself.
The room was dark, if you'd call it a room at all. Whatever the doctor, his name had been Joe, had injected into Edgar's neck made him feel as though he had little instinctual awareness. He couldn't tell whether he was in another hospital room or back in the vast warehouse of the infinite, waiting outside Herald's office for the next adventure.
Both of the young men awoke in a rather odd predicament. Edgar's eyes opened first, scanning the room in one solid motion, feeling the soft of cotton sheets underneath him, and hearing a metal on metal clink. When his head finally turned to the other side, he saw Mick in the adjacent hospital bed, the medical grade blankets to his hips and his torso wrapped in bandages.

Edgar remained staring at the ceiling, "we're already one for one after the dud bomb. If someone were keeping score, I'd say we're up... Continue Reading →
The door, having looked like an impregnable force only a short time ago, was now being ripped down the center. The visceral black mass looked as though it had formed an efficient saw and was now slicing through the door.
As the thudding persisted onward, so did Mickey and Edward. It was lucky for them that this lab in particular had been a sort of tightly lockable clean room, if only to house all of the notes for the experimentation; something pounded the door again, knocking loose debris from the ceiling.
The lab they found themselves in was equally as dark as the hallway, and it had an equally red light that was pulsating in the corner. Unlike the hallway, this room looked as if something had drained the water from it several times over, but the smell suggested that moss, mold, or perhaps both were... Continue Reading →
"Of course," I said stepping forward, "Nothing at all foreboding about a creepy little box you found in the attic of your grandfather's old house. Hey, while we're at it, wanna hold some lit firecrackers in our hands? Might be fun," I said sarcastically.
